I found out about this Anti Planking Bill of 2011 from one of the blogs that I’m following. What’s my first reaction? I just can’t myself from laughing. I am not sure if I am just not getting the point of the news that Planking is soon to be ban or I’m just stupid that I find this bill stupid as well. Before I go further, what is planking in the first place? Planking is an activity consisting of lying face down in an unusual or incongruous location.

Though I am not a fan of planking and no plans of doing it at all, still I find this bill so silly. Are they not busy? Aren’t they notice that there are more important things that they need to work with rather than wasting their time on this kind of bill?
Why don’t they just use their time in fixing the more important issues in our society? such as our increasing population or maybe poverty and more.
As what I’m seeing it, Planking is a matter of “trip” and should i say it is also freedom of expression?
I understand the side of Quezon City Representative Winston Castelo when he said that, “Parents and teachers have reason to be alarmed if these similar protest actions will have as a scheme and scene otherwise warm and living bodies laid down across street highways as though they were offerings to the gods,”
“The parent in me tells me that this precedent in the case of the this massive transport strike where militant street protesters who are students of various schools have to lie down or serve as ‘planks’ across the road to disrupt what should be normal traffic could just be very dangerous in the future. Life and limb are pretty much at risks here were unbelieving bus drivers or law enforcement authorities might just ram through these warm and living bodies rolled out on highways”, Castelo added.
He is concern about the young people. However is worth consuming your time and effort for this bill? If your a man who is in the right mind set why would you planked in the roads? Or should I say why would you plank at all.
These are just some of my questions and observation for now. I don’t have the answers to these questions therefore I still trying to think outside the box. Everyone is free to express their opinions about this…
