The Blue Crown and Megan Young

Finally, the Philippines won the highly-coveted “blue crown” as Megan Young was proclaimed the 63rd Miss World during the pageant final on Saturday, September 28, 2013, at Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center in Bali, Indonesia. Megan Young’s win is historical to the country because the Miss World title has been elusive to Filipinas in the last 63 years. But now that our very own candidate bagged the title, the Philippines is now the ONLY country in the world to have won in all grand slam pageants: Miss Universe, Miss World, Miss Earth, Miss International and Miss Supranational. During the final question on why she should be Miss World, here is Megan’s answer: “The Miss World for me treasures the core values of humanity. I will use these core values in understanding and helping people.”
