Travel Guide : Mt. Ulap (Cloud Mountain) Eco-trail of Itogon, Benguet



Mt. Ulap Eco-Trail in Itogon, Benguet is the perfect dayhike from Baguio City. The eco-trail features grassland and pine ridges, scenic views of the Cordilleras and burial caves. It is very feasible for dayhike or even half-dayhike that can be complete from 4-6 hours. This is one of the more scenic climbs that you can have in this region of the Philippines. Some people describe Mt. Ulap as New Zealand of the Philippines.






The Jump Off is located in Ampucao Itogon Benguet while the Exit Point is in Sta. Fe Itogon Benguet.


The trail have three peaks, namely Ambanaw Paway 1788 mASL (3.6.km), Gungal 1814 mASL (5.4km) and Mt. Ulap 1846 mASL (6.5km).











How to get to Mt. Ulap?

Commute
1. Take bus from Cubao/Pasay to Baguio City.
2. Take jeepney headed to Central Mall.
3. Take another jeepney from Central Mall to Phillex Mines and get off at Ampucao Elementary School

Private 
1. Take NLEX continuing to SCTEX taking the exit to MacArthur Highway.
2. From MacArthur Highway turn right to Kennon Rd continuing to Loakan Road then to Balatoc Road until you reach Ampucao Elementary School.

Rates:
1. Registration fee = 100 pesos per head
2. Local Guide Fee (1 guide: 7 persons) : Dayhike = 600.00 Overnight Camping = 1,000.00
3. Campsite fee (Overnight Camping for group of 10 persons and below) = 800.00
4. Porter fee (OPTIONAL) : Dayhike = 500.00 Overnight Camping = 800.00
