Ring Of Fire

The Philippines' is located in the Pacific Ring of Fire and close to the equator makes the Philippines prone to earthquakes and typhoons, but also endows it with abundant natural resources and some of the world's greatest biodiversity.

The Ring of Fire (also known as the Rim of Fire or the Circum-Pacific belt) is a major area in the basin of the Pacific Ocean where many earthquakes and volcanic eruptions occur. In a large 40,000 km (25,000 mi) horseshoe shape, it is associated with a nearly continuous series of oceanic trenches, volcanic arcs, and volcanic belts and plate movements. It has 452 volcanoes (more than 75% of the world's active and dormant volcanoes).

The Weather and Climate

Philippines have two seasons, the wet season and the dry season, based upon the amount of rainfall.
The dry season runs from December through around June. You will experience two temperatures during this season.
You will love the cool temperature during December up to February. You can expect dry and warmer temperature from March to June. The best time to travel is during December to May since the weather isn't too hot nor wet and perfect for going outdoors.
The Philippines attract typhoons from western pacific in a north-westerly direction during the south west monsoon.
Typhoon season occurs between June and November. Typhoons can result in significant damage in these areas or heavy rain across the rest of the country which make it not advisable for travelling.
Depending on location in the country some areas experience rain all throughout the year.
The Philippines has five types of climates: tropical rainforest, tropical monsoon, tropical savanna, humid subtropical and oceanic (both are in higher-altitude areas) characterized by relatively high temperature, oppressive humidity and plenty of rainfall.
Weather in the Philippines is monitored and managed by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
