Bacon Spaghetti in Salsa

I woke up early today craving for a spaghetti. Since it's too early in the morning I decided to be resourceful and come up with my own recipe based on the ingredients available. Please note that this is not my regular spaghetti recipe.

Ingredients

1/2 kg uncooked Royal spaghetti
1 tablespoon Olive oil
6 pcs Purefoods hotdog, sliced diagonally
3 slice of Purefoods Classic bacon, chopped
1 bottle of left over Salsa
1 onion, peeled and chopped
3 cloves garlic, peeled and minced
1 cups tomato sauce
1/2 cup tomato paste
1 cup banana ketchup, preferably sweet and spicy (Optoional)
1 teaspoon sugar
salt and pepper to taste
Parmesan cheese

Procedure

  1. In a pot over medium heat, cook spaghetti in salted boiling water according to package's direction for about 7 to 9 minutes or until firm to bite. Drain well.
  2. In a separate saucepan, heat olive oil.
  3. Add sliced hot dogs and cook, stirring occasionally until it turns lightly browned. Remove from pan and set aside.
  4. Sauté onions and garlic in a pan.
  5. Add the chopped bacon.
  6. Add tomato sauce, ketchup, and the left over Salsa.
  7. Let it boil and then lower heat to simmer until sauce thickened.
  8. Add browned hot dogs.
  9. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  10. To serve, spoon spaghetti sauce over noodles and top with shredded cheese.
