MANILA, Philippines – It was “calling” that brought model-actor Will Devaughn to get in touch with his spirituality and become a Born Again Christian. The former “Pinoy Big Brother” celebrity housemate related to PEP in an interview that “last July 30th, I was born again.” He felt that something had always been missing in his life, Will said, realizing it was God. Will clarified though that he didn’t undergo conversion because, to begin with, he “never had a religion” and he had never been baptized. "I didn't know God, I didn't go to church, ever,” he said. He added, however, that he experienced what he cited as a “kidnapping ritual.” “Kasi may tao na lumapit. Sabi niya 'Ay, may pizza party ha, on Sunday!' "Tapos na-excite ako nun. 10 years old ako. So, kaya nung pumunta ako dun, church pala. Tapos pizza party pagkatapos ng service,” he recounted. The actor, who’s currently part of the Kapuso drama series “Kung Aagawin Mo Ang Langit,” admitted he got quite scared to participate in the said ritual because the people who approached him were strangers. Nevertheless, “kaya pumunta ako dun para sa pizza!” he added lightheartedly. Although her mother was neither Catholic nor Christian, Will said she “believes in God.” "Pero ever since growing up hindi ko talaga alam na nagpe-pray siya on a regular basis. "Our family, parang hindi sila verbal, or expressive [about their faith],” he added. "Let's just say sa mga nangyari sa buhay ko.... sa puso ko, parang may kulang,” he noted, but his newfound spirituality had filled that void. "Kahit may pera, kahit may kotse, kahit lahat, parang something's missing, eh. Kasi never akong nag-pray. Never akong nakipag-usap kay God. Never,” he told PEP.
