Why do I travel alone or at least join a tour as a joiner?

Solo travel is not for everyone. But I don’t want to wait for people and hold back from going places and enjoy what life has to offer.

I used to wait for my friends then start planning as a group then when the time is near everyone would just back out. It was just a waste of time and effort and that could really cause a lot of depression in my part. Especially from someone who is working in a BPO industry where filing a vacation leave is really a challenge.

I started reading online blogs about DIY trips and being a solo traveler. It really caught my attention and I challenge myself to go alone. Upto this time I am enjoying my time alone. I enjoy exploring new places by myself.

Here are the reasons why I travel alone or at least join a tour as a solo joiner.

1. EASIER PLANNING

We all have our own bucket lists of places that  we want to travel in our lifetime, but all too often we hold ourselves back from experiences because we have no one to share this moments and great experiences. However If you will keep on waiting for the “right person” or your “travel buddy” you might just be spending your lifetime waiting Instead of enjoying the mountains, the forest, beaches and more.

It is much easier to plan alone. You can easily go out whenever you want without waiting for other people.

2. MORE "ME TIME"

Going alone or solo travel offers the time and space for your valuable alone time. It will give you time to learn more about yourself.

3. ULTIMATE FREEDOM

Travelling solo means that you alone are responsible for yourself and your journey. You can do everything at your own pace.

4. YOU'RE THE MASTER OF YOUR ITINERARY

You are not bound to any schedule that you need to follow. You can maximize your own time. You can stay a little bit longer to those places that you enjoyed the most.

5. MEET NEW FACE AND MAKE NEW FRIENDS

I personally have struggles is socializing and communicating with other people. But since I go alone I’ve learned to asked question and communicate with strangers that eventually discovered set of new friends.

6. CONFIDENCE BOOSTER

I still feel a bit nervous when I’m kicking off a solo trip, but in the end, nothing makes me feel more confident or capable than conquering the world on my own.

7. HELPS TO REDISCOVER YOURSELF

Since I have no one to depend on I learned to do things on my own. I learned to conquer my fears. I have learned new skills and abilities.

8. MAKES YOU A BETTER TRAVELER

Traveling alone teach you to become observant of people and places around you, which makes you more compassionate and a better person overall. It helps you to become kinder and more patient. I personally learned to be more curios and attentive than when I’m with a travel companion.

9. YOU CAN STAY WITHIN YOUR BUDGET

I am a spender that is a fact. But since I have traveled alone this is one of the great lessons that I have learned – stay within my budget. Since no one is there to help me with my finances, I’ve learned how to compare prices and find best deals. I learned to become resourceful. You will learn the difference between your needs and wants.

10. MORE SATISFYING

It is more satisfying knowing that you did it all by yourself without depending on someone. You can keep the experience and lessons for a life time.
